Andrea van de Wetering, DVM, FAVD

Dr. ‘Van’ has been providing care for pets at Reid Veterinary Hospital since 1995. She graduated from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary medicine in 1991. In the 17 years at Reid Veterinary Hospital, along with general practice, she has had a focus on small animal dentistry and has a passion for providing exceptional dental care for her patients. In 2009 she achieved advanced credentials in the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and provides advanced dental care and “tooth saving” procedures for pets at Reid Veterinary Hospital. She also teaches the small animal dentistry course at the OSU veterinary college to third year vet students as well as a preventative dentistry course to fourth year vet students. She teaches dentistry classes to general practitioners in Oregon, Washington and California and has several publications on the topic of veterinary dentistry. In addition, she lectures to kennel clubs, student groups and nationally at veterinary meetings on the topic of dentistry. She is owned by one cat and when she is not being a vet, she enjoys raising two teenage boys, gardening and golfing.
